Thailand to Launch Mandatory Digital Arrival Card for Foreign Visitors Starting 1 May 2025

Beginning 01 May 2025, Thailand will officially implement the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) system, a new digital immigration process that will require all foreign visitors to submit their travel and personal details online prior to entering the country. The initiative, spearheaded by the Immigration Bureau of Thailand, aims to streamline entry procedures, reduce paperwork, and modernize the overall border control experience.

Replacing the traditional paper-based arrival cards, the TDAC will be mandatory for all foreign nationals arriving in Thailand by air, land, or sea. This includes tourists, business travelers, and long-term or permanent foreign residents. The only exemptions are for individuals transiting or transferring through Thailand without passing through immigration, and those entering via a Border Pass.

Travelers can begin submitting their TDAC up to three (03) days before their scheduled arrival. For instance, those arriving on 05 May 2025 may submit their information as early as 02 May 2025. To accommodate early travelers, the system will open for submissions on 28 April 2025.

To submit the TDAC, visitors must access the official portal at https://tdac.immigration.go.th. The platform supports both individual and group submissions and allows updates to be made up until the date of travel. Required information includes:

  • Passport details
  • Personal and travel information
  • Accommodation address in Thailand
  • A brief health declaration

Long-term residents should choose “Thailand” under the “Country of Residence” section, which will be enabled once the system goes live.

In case a traveller is unable to complete the TDAC due to a lack of Internet access, designated help points will be available at immigration checkpoints. However, this assistance is intended strictly for exceptional cases. The Immigration Bureau strongly recommends that travelers complete their TDAC in advance to prevent delays and ease congestion at entry points.
