With the Philippine aviation industry at a critical juncture of growth and transformation, the upcoming 2025 Philippine Aviation Summit aims to drive stronger commitments from public and private stakeholders to build a more sustainable, globally competitive air transport sector.
Co-organized by the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP) and the Asian Business Aviation Association (AsBAA), and co-presented by Philippine Airlines (PAL) as the official carrier, the Summit will take place from 08 to 09 October 2025 at the Marriott Hotel Manila in Pasay City.
The Summit serves as a high-level platform to address the challenges and opportunities in the local aviation landscape, particularly as the Philippines remains one of the fastest-growing markets in the Asia-Pacific region. With its strategic geographic makeup as an archipelago, aviation is vital to national connectivity, trade, and tourism.
“At the ECCP, and through our Aviation Committee, we remain deeply committed to these goals — not only by advocating for policy reforms, but also by providing platforms like the Aviation Summit that foster dialogue, knowledge-sharing, and meaningful partnerships,” according to ECCP Executive Director Florian Gottein.
The 2025 edition of the summit is expected to feature global thought leaders and regulators tackling key issues such as Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) deployment, international aviation law, and workforce capacity-building. A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed to formalize partnerships between ECCP, AsBAA, Philippine Airlines, and government agencies including the Department of Transportation (DOTr), the Department of Tourism (DOT), and the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP).
DOTr Undersecretary for Aviation and Airports Jim Sydiongco emphasized the importance of public-private coordination in projects such as airport modernization, air connectivity expansion, and aviation safety enhancement under the new leadership of DOTr Secretary Vince Dizon. CAAP Director General Raul Del Rosario added that adapting international standards while engaging key stakeholders will be essential to meeting future demands. DOT Undersecretary Verna Buensuceso echoed the link between tourism and aviation, stressing how each sector’s progress positively impacts the other. PAL President and COO Capt. Stanley Ng noted that the Summit provides a valuable venue for sharing solutions and aligning visions.
