Cebu Pacific has announced a significant upgrade to its ground operations with the acquisition of new Ground Support Equipment (GSE), reinforcing its commitment to operational efficiency amid a growing network and increased travel demand.
The airline’s latest investment includes high-capacity tow tractors, mobile passenger stairs, boarding ramps, deck loaders, catering trucks, and electric baggage tractors. These assets will be deployed at strategic locations, including Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminals 2 and 3, as well as in major domestic hubs. The upgraded equipment is expected to improve aircraft turnaround times and ensure smoother ground operations.

“As we continue to expand our operations, it is important that we also invest in the right equipment to maintain operational reliability. These new assets reflect our commitment to providing safe, reliable, and seamless travel experiences for our passengers,” according to Lei Apostol, CEB Vice President for Customer Service Operations.

Ground support equipment plays a vital role in day-to-day airline operations, encompassing services such as baggage and cargo handling, passenger boarding, aircraft maintenance, and catering. By modernizing its ground fleet, Cebu Pacific aims to support not only punctual departures and arrivals but also its broader strategy of long-term sustainable growth.

This latest investment aligns with Cebu Pacific’s operational goals to maintain industry-best practices in safety, reliability, and customer service, while also keeping pace with the airline’s expanding footprint across Asia and beyond.

Cebu Pacific currently operates flights to 37 domestic and 26 international destinations, covering key markets in Asia, Australia, and the Middle East. As the airline continues to increase its frequencies and add new routes, its upgraded GSE capabilities are expected to further enhance its competitiveness in the regional aviation market.
